Baxter is known around Australia for its meticulously made range of hardy footwear including its trademark elastic sided riding boots. Since the first elastic sided riding boot manufactured by Baxter there are now many versions of this boot sold across the country. Today the company is still noted for its riding boots along with its work boots, western boots and various other styles of footwear. Baxter manufactures boots and shoes for the retail market, police and defence forces among many others. Baxter Boots have a long association with the defence force, they were worn by servicemen in both world wars and they continue to supply the Army with dress shoes and boots today.
